Hello pals! Today is an extra special preview because it’s also chockful of some exciting announcements! So strap in and get hyped!

As we mentioned in the last full edition, this fall has definitely eaten our lunches, and since both of us work in universities AND the holidays are creeping up, we’ve decided to take it easier on everyone and have one last letter come out in 2019 (expected end of November/beginning of December) and then start back up with our monthly schedule in January 2020! We’ll get into our topics for that final 2019 letter in a minute, but first we have some even MORE exciting news!
We’re moving to Substack!!!!!!

What will change, you ask? Absolutely nothing except the address from which you receive this letter! You don’t need to re-sign up or anything! After sending out this newsletter we’ll be transferring our current subscriber list over to Substack and changing all links on our Twitter. You’ll also be able to find our archives on Substack, at this handy spot. The only thing you may have to do is make sure you’re keeping an eye out that the change in sender doesn’t get it sent back to spam, but experientially for us Substack gets flagged as spam wayyyyyyyy less often than TinyLetter does, so fingers crossed!
Why the change, you ask? Because when she should do things like “processing her feelings” or “actually writing her part of the letter,” Kelsey has been researching which newsletter services are least likely to make her tear her lovely hair out, and Substack is preferred by many of our newsletter faves (including Two Bossy Dames, who we both absolutely adore), as they’re constantly working to improve the service. Also maybe money????
Yeah, what about money, don’t you have to pay for Substack newsletters, you ask? Sometimes! But not for ours! The content you’ve been receiving and enjoying for the last nearly-year (!!) is going to remain completely free on the schedule we’ve been using. Substack’s lowest possible paid option is $5 a month and currently neither of us has the time or energy to create enough additional content that we’d feel comfortable with providing for that amount. Please do feel free to let us know if paying for extra content from us is something you’d be someday be interested in, or what types of Content™ you’d be interested in seeing! Again, it’s not at all in the nearby future for us, but it’s always nice to have a gauge for where people are at, and at the very least we’d drink up the compliments!
Now, onto our topics!
[gif: David Rose saying “I’m obsessed with this”]
Schitt’s Creek - It should come as no surprise that we’re avid Schitt’s Creek enthusiasts, and we’re going to get into all the things that make this Canadian comedy such a delight. All five seasons are available on Netflix and make for an excellent marathon watch!
Unbelievable - This show, also on Netflix, warrants a serious trigger warning, as it centers a young woman who was sexually assaulted and the two detectives who solve her case years later. The show has been touted for its sensitive and powerful centering of the experience of the victim/survivors in the show, as well as the performances from the actors who play the detectives. (It’s Merritt Wever and Toni Collette!!!) We have a lot of things to say about it, many of them positive, but first and foremost we totally understand if that kind of show is really not for you right now or ever. <3

And thus concludes the final email you’ll ever get from our tinyletter! Sit tight and stay cozy in anticipation of Substageddon!!
